Ringwood School become College 10's Champions!

Ringwood School are celebrating after becoming the New Forest College 10’s Rugby Champions. Ringwood School and Burgate School joined other colleges and sixth form teams from across the New Forest to fiercely contest to become Champions.

The game of rugby 10’s follows the same rules of the fifteen a-side game but with only 10 players on the pitch meaning that the players have to work harder and be much fitter.

The league was launched by the RFU and hosted by Ellingham and Ringwood RFC with the aim of getting 16 – 24 year old players back into the game of rugby.

RFU Community Rugby Coach Sharon Evans commented, ‘It has been really good to see the colleges turn up and play for the past 4 weeks here at Ellingham and Ringwood RFC. The players have played there heart out in every game and thanks should go to both them and their teachers for turning up each week..’

Steve Anderson, Director of Rugby at Ellingham and Ringwood RFC said, ‘There has been some outstanding level of rugby played over the past few weeks. The players have contested for the ball at every opportunity. Congratulations to Ringwood School who deserved to win this year.’
