About us

In Under 12s, our focus is on the girls having fun, making new friendships and developing their fundamental rugby skills. This one year age group (school year 8) is the transition from mixed rugby to girls only competition.

Our club has an excellent, long standing, reputation for women and girls rugby. We are a hub for girls rugby within the New Forest, attracting players from schools and clubs from the surrounding areas. Some girls have played since they were 4 years old, whilst others are experiencing rugby for the first time.

Our experienced, RFU qualified, coaches are committed to ensuring an 'inclusive approach' to training and matches. We adapt and differentiate activities to ensure that girls gain confidence, make rapid progress and continue to be challenged within every session. Whilst there isn't a formal league competition, we encourage girls to regularly participate in festivals and friendly fixtures to gain experience of competitive situations and learn to apply their skills and principles of play under pressure. Fixtures are usually played on a Sunday afternoon.

What do I wear? Appropriate sportswear (lots of layers in winter), studded boots & gum shield (essential). Club kit is available to purchase

How much does it cost? There is an annual subscription fee of £100 (discount for siblings). No weekly training or match fees. We offer a free trial period for new players

Is there any contact? Yes. Lots of contact. But the coaches will ensure players develop the correct techniques and confidence to make contact safely.
