Our women's team put in a superb performance on Sunday to beat Southampton 41-0 and extend their lead at the top of the National Championship 2 South league.
The first 20 minutes of the game were very even and Southampton could easily have taken the lead, but it was the New Forest side that took the lead when wing three quarter Jas Clarke finished off a good move in the corner. With the final play of the half flank forward Nina Hoadley crashed over for a further try, which was converted by Paige Darvill-White to give the visitors a 12-0 advantage at the break.
In the second half Jas Clarke finished off another good move to score within minutes of the re-start and this was also converted by Darvill-White. Further tries followed from Jas Clarke, Nina Hoadley and Paige Darvill-White to make the final score 41-0.
After the game the delighted Ellingham & Ringwood captain Charlotte Benson (pictured) said, "This was our best performance of the season and I'm really pleased at how well our squad are developing week on week".
